Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing) won his maiden MotoGP Grand Prix at KTM’s home track, beating championship leader Jorge Martín (Aprilia Racing) by 1.017s after 28 laps (MotoGP.com; official classification).
How it was won
Acosta had crashed out of the Saturday Sprint lead; on Sunday he started third, slipped to fifth off the line (Crash.net), climbed past Ai Ogura and Marco Bezzecchi, then took the lead from Martín on Lap 9. He managed the gap through the second half, stretching to about 1.4s with two to go and bringing the RC16 home in 42:16.996.
Bezzecchi finished third, 0.192s behind Martín, completing an Aprilia 2–3. Marc Márquez (Ducati Lenovo) faded to fifth after early mistakes, dropping 12 points behind Martín in the standings. Teammate Brad Binder backed Acosta in sixth, his best result of the season (MotoGP.com).
It was Acosta’s first premier-class win after a record 15 prior MotoGP podiums without a Sunday victory, and KTM’s first GP win since Miguel Oliveira won in Thailand in 2022 (Auto Action).

History & significance
The Austrian GP at the Red Bull Ring is KTM’s and Red Bull’s backyard showcase. Acosta’s breakthrough — in his final KTM season before he joins Ducati in 2027 — closed a long drought for the orange factory and reset the title fight before the Motegi flyaway.
What’s next
