Nicola Lacorte (DAMS Lucas Oil) won the 2026 FIA Formula 3 Feature Race at Monza—his maiden F3 victory, DAMS Lucas Oil’s first win in the championship, and (per official F3 reporting) the first Italian F3 driver to win at Monza. He beat Tuukka Taponen (MP Motorsport) and Taito Kato (ART Grand Prix).
How it was won
Polesitter and championship leader Freddie Slater led early before the race unravelled into Safety Car periods and midfield chaos. Lacorte, starting third, worked forward as ART’s Kanato Le and Kato shuffled the lead group. Lacorte took the lead from Le around Lap 10 and was never headed thereafter.
Slater later retired after a rear-right tyre issue at Ascari; title rival Ugo Ugochukwu recovered from a Turn 1 spin (last) to eighth. Lacorte managed the gap to Taponen through the final Safety Car/yellow-flag phases to the chequered flag. Official F3 noted Lacorte as the 13th different winner of the 2026 season—a category record for a single year.
