Alexander Dunne turned pole into his first win of the 2026 season in the Baku Feature Race 1, leading a Rodin Motorsport 1–2 ahead of teammate Martinius Stenshorne on the streets of Baku, Azerbaijan. Dino Beganovic of DAMS Lucas Oil took third, hours after winning the Sprint Race.
How it was won
Dunne covered off Stenshorne into Turn 1 and had more than a second in hand once DRS was enabled on Lap 3. The race changed shape during the pit window: Mari Boya’s PREMA stopped on track, bringing out the Safety Car, and Dunne and Rafael Câmara took their mandatory stops under the neutralisation. That left Oliver Goethe (MP Motorsport), running the alternate strategy, leading the restart (FIA Formula 2 report).
A multi-car incident at Turn 3 then brought out the red flag and ended the day for title contender Nikola Tsolov, along with Joshua Duerksen, Cian Shields and John Bennett. After the stoppage, the race ran to time instead of the full distance.
Goethe held on until he ran wide at Turn 16. Dunne used DRS to take the lead into Turn 1 at the start of Lap 16, and Stenshorne soon made it a Rodin 1–2. With no further Safety Cars, Dunne took the flag 4.395 seconds clear, and full points were awarded. Câmara slipstreamed past Noel León just short of the line for fourth.

Dunne’s win put him back in the title fight. The top three were separated by eight points going into the weekend’s final race.
What’s next
The Baku weekend closed with Feature Race 2 on Saturday, September 26. After that, F2 takes a break until Round 13 at Lusail, Qatar, on November 27–29 (FIA Formula 2 calendar).
